TOM DEASY (TOMS TOURS) – VLOGGER
When West Cork man Tom Deasy decided to hit the road with his four legged friend Archer to show you the Island of Ireland and more importantly its lesser-known spots they captured the hearts of followers across the globe. Together their wanderings have produced widely beloved and inspirational content that is not only good wholesome fun but also incredibly educational…..and its safe to say Archer is living every dog’s dream!
I QUIT MY JOB AND ACTUALLY BY ACCIDENT FELL INTO THE TOURISM INDUSTRY
Please tell us a bit about yourself ?
Born and raised here in West Cork I felt the draw of global travel calling me, so off I went on a planned three months of travelling which turned out to be over eight years of living and travelling to all sorts of places around the world. It was only when I returned to Ireland I began to see and appreciate the beauty that Ireland had to offer all along. I continued to work but by 2017 I knew I’d had enough so I quit my job and actually by accident fell into the tourism industry. Up until March 2020 Toms Tours was booming and I was very busy taking large groups of international travellers around Ireland, the UK and to Paris but due to global issues this obviously came to a halt. Now myself and my four legged buddy Archer aim to show people just what Ireland has to offer by travelling to all corners of this epic island.
What would you say is unique about your style ?
I guess the thing most unique to my account is of course the star of the show Archer. Besides that there are hardly any male vloggers doing what I do and to show Ireland off is something I’m very passionate about.
Where are your favourite spots in Ireland for getting those picture perfect shots ?
It’s very hard to choose certain spots as my favourites but I would have to say the Killarney area is so jam packed with such beauty this would be my most ideal spot to visit for epic shots.
Please can you share the TOP 3 photographs (in your opinion) that you’ve taken and write one sentence about each ?
1. The Gap of Dunloe:
My favorite place not just in Ireland but the world
2. Bantry House and Gardens:
Archer is my right hand dog and this photo is just everything to me.
3. Healy Pass :
Are there any destinations in Ireland that are high on your list to visit ?
I’ve covered so much of Ireland but there are always new places to go discover. One area I badly need to get back to and explore more in detail is Co Donegal. For such an epic county I feel it really isn’t showcased enough on the tourism side of things which it really deserves to be.
Three people (living or dead) you’d invite to dinner ?
that’s a tough one but JFK (for the secrets), Bill Murray (for the madness) and David Attenborough (because he’s a legend).
