Ireland’s Food & Drink with Kevin Dundon

The series is in association with the Food Studio at Greentech HQ in county Wexford. Each week, Kevin Dundon travels across the county uncovering the stories, faces, and the flavours behind Wexford’s most exciting food and drink destinations.

About Kevin

One of Ireland’s best-loved chefs, Kevin Dundon can usually be found busy at work in the Dunbrody House kitchens and cookery school. You will also often find him gracing the TV screens and chatting on Irish radio covering all things to do with food. A chef with a love of locally sourced indigenous produce Kevin considers himself spoilt with the positive bounty of fresh… seafood and fantastic fruit and vegetables literally on his doorstep…

EP01  Bearú, New Ross

Kevin Dundon kicks off his journey through Wexford’s food and drink experiences in the town of New Ross. In the first episode, he meets Dave Rowley chef and owner of new eatery Bearú, a rising star on Ireland’s culinary scene…..Since filming, Bearú has (last week) been crowned ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Irish Restaurant Awards, and it’s easy to see why.

EP02  Mary Barrys Seafood Restaurant, Kilmore

In this episode, Kevin visits the award-winning Mary Barry’s Seafood Restaurant where he meets owner Susie Doyle and Head Chef Nicky Cullen. Nicky (who sadly passed away after filming) was a major driving force behind Mary Barry’s success. His infectious passion and exceptional creativity made the restaurant what it is today.
A tribute to great food and an unforgettable chef.

EP03 Brownes, Gorey

Kevin Dundon heads to North Wexford to visit Brownes, one of Gorey’s most storied pubs…a place that’s been pouring pints since the 1700s.

In this episode, Kevin meets Paraic Redmond, who, along with his team, has taken over and sympathetically restored the historic corner bar. While the building itself dates back to 1758, it’s the Browne family who gave the pub its name…and its soul.

EP04 Table Forty One, Gorey

This week, Kevin Dundon steps inside Table Forty One, a quietly confident, Michelin Guide-listed restaurant right in the heart of Gorey Town and the creative home of chef Andrew Duncan. After years learning his craft in top kitchens across Ireland, New Zealand, Canada, and the UAE, Andrew returned to his hometown to open a restaurant built on seriously good affordable food.
