Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025 | Loch Garman | Wexford

Over 650,000 visitors arrived to Wexford Town for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024 | Loch Garman

Following the incredible success of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024, which saw over 650,000 people flock to Loch Garman for a week of unforgettable music, craic, and celebration, this year’s Fleadh promises to be even bigger and better.

Once described as the “Olympics of Traditional Irish Music” by George Lawlor TD and former Mayor of Wexford Town, the Fleadh is a unique opportunity for musicians to share their talents, for families to come together, and for Wexford to once again shine on the global stage.

With the town set to come alive once more with the sound of traditional tunes, vibrant street sessions, and family fun, we look forward to welcoming you to another extraordinary week at the heart of Irish culture.

Last year, thousands gathered in Wexford Town to mark the opening day of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024, with a memorable ceremony featuring none other than President Michael D. Higgins, who captured the spirit of the event perfectly when he said:
“The Fleadh is a time when we can all come together, welcoming so many visitors from around the world who have joined us to celebrate Irish music, dance and language.”

A new Guinness World Record is set with over 2,500 tin whistles playing simultaneously

One of the most unforgettable moments of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2024 was when the people of Wexford made history officially breaking the world record for the largest tin whistle ensemble, playing for five continuous minutes.

The previous record, set in 2010 by a Scoil Acla group on Achill Island with 1,015 participants, was blown away as an incredible 2,516 musicians came together to perform The Dawning of the Day and The Boys of Wexford. Even more impressive than the numbers was the sound powerful, moving, and beautifully in tune.

And they are not stopping there. In 2025, Wexford is setting its sights on another record-breaking moment this time, aiming to smash the Guinness World Record for the largest céilí band ever assembled.
