Over the course of the week-long festival, Wexford was alive with traditional music, mighty craic and lots of family fun. The Fleadh was not only an opportunity for musicians to showcase their talent. But for Wexford to shine to a global audience, and what a host Wexford Town proved to be.
A huge well done is well done! is deserved by organisers, performers, competitors, volunteers, Wexford County Council, Fleadh Cheoil, An Garda Síochána Wexford and everyone who made this massive week possible.

A new Guinness World Record is set with over 2,500 tin whistles playing simultaneously
The people of Wexford officially brake the record for the largest crowd to play the tin whistle for five continuous minutes. The previous record was held by a Scoil Acla group in Achill Island in 2010 with 1,015 participants. The two tunes chosen for the occasion were The Dawning Of The Day and Boys of Wexford. Not only did they break it but smashed the record with a unbelievable 2,516 players, and what’s more impressive is that it sounded brilliant.
