GROWING UP IN A WEST COAST COMMUNITY, PROMOTING IRELAND AS A TOURISM TRAVEL DESTINATION IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME AND A LOT OF MY IRISH PHOTOGRAPHY IS FOCUSED ON THIS.
Please tell us a bit about yourself ?
Dia dhaoibh! Is mise Frank Cosgrove I am born raised in County Clare and spend as much time as possible in Kilkee, West Clare when not traveling. I have always had a love of the outdoors, travel, tourism and technology. Photography for me is a creative outlet to record some of the adventures and places I visit. Another strong interest of mine is technology and I can’t resist an opportunity to combine this two interests when an opportunity arises i.e. testing new drones, camera’s, software or phones before they come to market.
What would you say is unique about your style ?
I am always trying to get an image from another angle that maybe people haven’t seen before, this sometimes involves using boats , drones, 360 camera’s etc to create a different perspective on scenes they many encounter every day. Growing up in a west coast community promoting Ireland as a tourism travel destination is very important to me and a lot of my Irish photography is focused on this. As I normally also travel a lot outside of Ireland photography is often a way to show my friend and family the places I visit that may not show up on your typical travel pictures. I expect travel to start again for me in 2022 so busy building a list of new destinations.
Where are your favourite spots in Ireland for getting those picture perfect shots ?
Loophead in County Clare has endless coastal locations to photograph and has to be top of the list.
Kerry: Glorious mountains and stunning coastline.
Dublin: Nothing beats and evening stroll around Dublin for some street photography.
Please can you share the TOP 3 photographs (in your opinion) that you’ve taken and write one sentence about each ?

Are there any destinations in Ireland that are high on your list to visit ?
- West Cork: Especially around Rosscarbery where the river meets to sea it looks fantastic.
- Donegal: So much exploring to do here with unique untouched stunning landscapes.
- Tipperary: I think there is much potential between Loug Derg, the rolling green countryside, Keeperhill, the Galtee Mountains etc
